A cup of tea, meditation done, desk cleaned, three cards and a fourth of the Tarot de Marseilles in front of me, notebook settled on a green silk cloth...on my right three of my most sacred crystals… the water fountain in the room subtly comforting my senses...lavender spray in the air…and last, but certainly not least...Buda, beloved lion Shi tzu of my heart, guarding me from the bed behind… the stage is set… Tibetan Tingsha bells have sounded three times twice…

Welcome to this moment of our connection as you read my words, timeless moment, sacred moment of our now.

In sharing the above my intention was to bring your attention to the steps I took to activate sacred energy within and around me. Slow, simple steps and details with a focused intention from the heart to do so.

Why sacred? What is sacred? A matter of perception as I see which can be felt through relationship to other, another, meaning anything outside of ourselves (experience, activity, person, space, thing..). Igniting the sacred can be perceived as accessing an extra sense...a special sense. A sense that carries the perception of any experience as graceful, special, and of a finer, subtler energetic/vibrating essence. Its driving force, the heart, pure intention from the heart...enabling one to transform anything into sacred at will. So as we perceive the sacred, that which perceives the sacred should be the sacred within us… thereby, activating the sacred leads us to connecting to the sacred within...expanding the value of our experiences, of our relationship to all that is...

Considering now appreciation, the act of appreciating as coming from the heart, we find a measure which enhances our life force as we feel expanded by the joy brought on through it... aha, essence nectar! We are rarely more alive than when we are appreciating, we are never more alive than when we experience the sense of the heart, that which lights us up with heartfelt joy, giving a sense of greater value and meaning to our experience. It seems to make sense that appreciation is a path to be considered to connect us to the sacred within...

Nowadays wee seem to be living in a world of dead matter. The relationship we have to life is one of very set parameters in which what has been defined as of value is that which we can use or which can give us some measure of value according to pre-established concepts. Our relationship to the sacred is to that outside source which we can have special access to through religions, philosophies and in certain specified places of worship such as churches, mosques etc...the deity always as something outside of ourselves. While we pursue our daily lives in a seemingly stable preordained way of acquiring stability, security, more knowledge, more things, more, more, more…nature is experienced on weekends, in fences, gardens and parks...we are bound by borders and nature mostly a provider we manipulate and use at will... until…

When looking at indigenous cultures and ancient civilizations we find a different approach. Sacredness permeated their relationship with earth, nature and its elements; nurturing this sacred relationship was the essence of their existence. Their traditions carry profound ancient wisdom and we seem to have all but lost any sense of how life is truly meant to be lived when in harmony with the natural world. The “old” ways of yonder carry in them wisdom lost to our memories, but not lost to our essence. Reconnecting to earth, igniting the sacred is, I believe, the path that will lead us to realigning with the universal flow of harmony, in coherence with the true essence which is present in all life and which naturally leads us to our highest potential as living beings.

“The world is a living entity.”

So where do we start if we wish to activate the sacred in our lives? We can start with the Goddess, with earth. Goddess? Yes, earth as the Goddess and we as her children. We begin by opening our minds, allowing for new perceptions outside of the existing parameters. Can you perceive earth as a living entity? Do you feel her? I do and connecting with her has opened my heart to a vastness of love and sensing beyond descriptive measure. What if earth has a heart and when we connect with her at the deepest level of appreciation we experience that which is most sacred, most valuable and most fulfilling?

All of this is easy said but how is this so? The concept that earth is a living entity is nothing new, among others, Plato spoke of it… I feel it as truth. Earth is alive and at its center there might be a hexagonal crystal... a hexagonal crystal at the center of earth pulsing and its life force vibration powering our magnetic field and all that is alive on earth. Richard Cohen, Lars Stixrude and Guoyin Shen of the Carnegie Institution of Washington are persuaded that the iron in the inner core does in fact have a hexagonal-shaped lattice. The material essence of earth’s core is said to be composed of iron and its characteristics could be much like that of meteorites, maybe alike moldavite.

The hexagon shape is a geometric structure that embodies the universal principle of coherence, and it does seem to be nature’s favorite shape. ..We find it on beehives, on several insects eyes (dragonfly, bees, flies…), on turtle shells, giraffes, snowflakes, at the giant causeway off of Ireland and Fingals Cave in Scotland (basalt columns), at the Salar De Uyuni salt flat in Bolivia, and on and on… It seems to be the form which carries the essence of the universal flow of harmony...it embodies the properties of the number 6...the number of earthly love.

The heart of earth, possibly this gigantic hexagonal crystal, might be the flower of life, which contains the tree of life, the seed of life… there are depictions of the flower of life all over the world from China to Egypt, to Scandinavia...and as early as 6th century BCE. For those familiar with the flower of life, it will be easier to recognize this. The flower of life is a shape formed of circles (and with it, vesica piscis - intersection of two circles with the same radius) which contains and can be created from the geometrical hexagon shape. Leonardo da Vinci explored the hexagon, and probably applied it to his paintings - the proportions from the harmonious hexagon…. Even on Saturn we find the hexagon... a hexagon shaped persistent cloud sits at its north pole that is quite impressive to observe...

“Geometry is knowledge of the eternally existent.” Plato

The essence of the hexagon shape at the heart of earth and throughout nature, regarding the sacred and its unfolding in the life flow of our universe is a fascinating and wondrous consideration, but maybe its greatest gift once in our awareness field, is to sense this. Our hearts generate an electromagnetic field 100 times stronger than the brain and this field can be detected up to 3 feet away from the body in all directions (Heart Math Institute). When we consider the theory that there really is a hexagonal crystal at the center of the earth and that this is earth's heart, the mysterious and fascinating flower of of life depicted throughout the ages as a sacred and enigmatic symbol of sacred geometry containing the mysteries of creation, then we can perceive the aliveness of earth and the enormity of it. Imagine earth's heart creating her own magnetic field and interacting with all of life on earth in this way....it might even be that as there is evidence of water deep below the surface and theories which ascertain that water sprouts deep within the earth...water might be one of the strongest mediums to connect with her energy...the ancients used to always consider water springs and well most sacred places....baptism in water makes even more sense as a sacred connection with the goddess...through water...her blood...there are places where supposedly one can find what is called miracle water...water with incredible healing potential...

Activating the sacred is independent of one’s belief on the inner structures of earth and the sacred geometry of life, however, allowing for the awareness of the reality of that which is invisible, yet permeates life, such as the subtle energies/vibrations, magnetic fields, the “powers” of crystals, tachyons (particles that travel faster than light - intuitive information maybe...) and engaging in sensing these, through the activation of the sacred, is a possible way to fully reawaken the dormant aspects of our human divinity.

May all our hearts connect to earth's heart in such a way that all of life is appreciated coexisting in harmony... May we walk barefoot on earth and know that we are never “just” walking barefoot on earth…
